Acupuncture in Santa Monica, Los Angeles

Whole Body Health

Whereas western medicine deals with causative agents of disease entities and specific treatments, eastern medicine adopts a holistic approach, with the aim of maintaining health by restoring the balance of body functions.

There is a sufficient body of evidence published in the last decade to support acupuncture’s effectiveness in the treatment of a wide range of health conditions including:

  • Ear, nose, and throat – allergies, gingivitis, sinusitis, allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, tonsillitis (i.e. sore throat), upper respiratory infections (e.g. flu, etc.)
  • Eye disorders – myopia (i.e. nearsightedness), early stages of macular degeneration, diplopia (i.e. double vision)
  • Cardiovascular – stable angina, arrhythmias, compensated congestive heart failure, venous insufficiency, hyperlipidemias (high cholesterol, triglycerides)
  • Respiratory – bronchitis, bronchial asthma, recurrent lung infections, COPD, cystic fibrosis
  • Gastrointestinal – esophageal spasm, gastroparesis, gastritis, GERD (i.e. hyperacidity), ulcers, constipation or diarrhea, IBS, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis
  • Kidney and urinary tract disorders – kidney stones, recurrent lower urinary tract infections, bladder incontinence
  • Neurological conditions – headaches, trigeminal neuralgia, Bell’s palsy or facial paralysis, post-stroke syndromes, peripheral neuropathies, neurological bladder dysfunction, intercostals neuralgia, early cases of Alzheimer, Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis
  • Endocrine disorders – hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, prolactinoma, disorders affecting pituitary and adrenal glands

At Tower our professionals are trained in both allopathic (western medicine) examination and Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis made through taking a thorough history, observation, palpation, and pulse exam. We employ functional diagnostic tests if indicated to further assess our patients’ complex health challenges.
