What is Oriental Medicine?
Oriental Medicine is a comprehensive healthcare system with a continuous history
of over 5,000 years. It includes acupuncture, herbology, bodywork (acupressure,
shiatsu, tui-na), dietary and nutritional counseling, and ancient exercise based
therapies such as tai chi and qi gong.
How does Oriental Medicine Work?
Oriental Medicine therapies work with the natural vital energy known as qi (pronounced
"chee") inherent in all living systems. Disease arises out of
an imbalance of vital energy. The process of restoring a person's vital
energy to a state of balance, along with lifestyle changes and spiritual cultivation,
can all lead to increased health, vitality, productivity, and overall well-being.
